 Our Purpose

I don't think there are many people in this generation who haven't been affected by suicide and the pain and suffering it brings.  A century ago, most people had to deal with their pain and sorrow, their family's pain and sorrow and their friend's pains and sorrows.  Today, due to the information highway and the wonderful positive information (please note my sarcasm) constantly portrayed by the news and modern media, people are overloaded with pain and sorrow.  They have it thrown at them constantly from every angle.  The result is an entire generation that is trying to find an escape from the very real hell they're living in.  I've know more than one person who lives for the escape of a drink or drugs - or to make it to the next video game or soap or sitcom - their escape.

The damage to the soul is at the cell level.  A few cells decided to go their own way - but no one caught just how deadly that "way" really was until it was so bad, the body was near death.  Those cells multiplied and brought on the cancer of immorality. (Yes, immorality! 1+1=2, 1+1 does NOT = 3 - and to believe otherwise IS a LIE (not a perception) and chooses death!  There IS a right and a wrong!) This cancer is so deadly, some have lost all hope.

But there is a Hiding Place from the pains and heart-breaking sorrows of life - and it's not in Nintendo, drugs, TV, food or anything else.  It's a place many don't want to go to, because it means facing our pains and sorrows and hells - and allowing LIFE to once again come in and restore what's been broken, lost and destroyed.   It's a place of soul-searching, brutal honesty with self, when you realize that even the GOOD you thought you'd done was less than enough.

But when you get to that place, if you're willing to look, there's a Man there waiting for you to take your hand and walk with you through the storms and hells of life.  See, He's been there before you - for you, so He could go with you.  Sound crazy?  Not as crazy as taking a life before it's time - whether fetal or grown.

This song comes from One who knew what it was like to have everyone hate His guts.  The song comes from One who knew more sorrow, pain and suffering than you or I will ever know.  He carried the your guilt, sorrow and pain - and mine - and everyone else's - at the cross.  The song, "LIFE!" is God's heart cry for you to CHOOSE LIFE.

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.  Psalm 30:5
He knows.  He died so you could live.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  John 10:10   So, please, all of heaven will rejoice over you, choose LIFE!
